The coach is directly responsible to the Athletic Administrator and Middle School Principal. (In the case of an assistant coach, he/she is responsible to the head coach.)

 

Applicants must be available for duty throughout the season (August through October). This will include any tournament for which the team might be eligible. Practice sessions are held daily.

 

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

 

  1. Teach fundamentals and skills 
  1. Organize practice sessions 
  1. Provide for prevention and care of injuries
  1. Conform to the rules established by the Rhode Island Principals Committee on Athletics
  1. Teach rules and regulations of the sport
  1. Display good sportsmanship and leadership characteristics
  1. Responsible for issuing, maintaining and collecting of equipment
  1. Supervision of team members at all times

REQUIREMENTS:

 

The coach should have a complete knowledge of the sport. Experience at the secondary or college level is desired requisite and previous coaching experience will be strongly considered.

  1. NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching
  1. Concussion in Sports

DESIRABLE QUALITIES:

 

  1. Ability to establish rapport with athletes on the team
  1. Dedication to the service of youth

1) Only completed application packets will be reviewed. 

 

2) All completed application packets must contain three (3) current letters of recommendation. At least one letter of recommendation must be provided by a supervisor.

 

3) All completed application packets must contain a copy of a current First Aid Card and CPR Card.
